Visions

SEEAC strives to work for making our society where:

(1) Members of Southeast and East Asian communities in the UK live without social exclusion and isolation, free from discrimination, exploitation and poverty, and are able to make positive contributions to the British society.

(2) Voices of Southeast and East Asian communities are represented and heard in public debates to build a society where rights of migrants, refugees and BAME community members are upheld.

(3) Cultures and histories of Southeast and East Asian communities and their diversity are better understood with full respect and recognised as part of the wider British society.

(4) We uphold and believe in the principle of equality to unite, and utilise diversity in our communities as a driving force for positive social changes.

Missions

Towards the realisation of our visions, SEEAC’s missions are:

(1) To provide essential community services to all members of Southeast and East Asian communities to enable them to improve their livelihoods and social mobility, and to ensure they are treated with dignity and respect without social discrimination and prejudice.

(2) To promote networking across Southeast and East Asian communities in the UK and facilitate cooperation among them to work together with openness, honesty and solidarity.

(3) To support inter-generational understanding among Southeast and East Asian communities to generate synergy of cultures between younger and older generations.

(4) To build and strengthen networks with stakeholders in not only the UK but also in our home countries in Southeast and East Asia in order to advocate, protect and promote rights of migrants and refugees in all stages of their migration processes.

(5) To promote and preserve cultures and heritages of Southeast and East Asia communities through documentation, representation, performance, education and cultural exchanges.
