Building Capacity
and Skills
With social and economic justice in mind, we are supporting our communities with building the skills and capacity they need to live fulfilling lives. We want our communities to live free from poverty and destitution, and strive to create opportunities for everyone to thrive and contribute positively to wider society.
Our upskilling trainings and workshops aim to give people more agency, autonomy and choice in reaching their potential.
Our active projects include:
Rise and Lead Fellowship
SEEAC is proudly partnering with Anti Trafficking and Labour Exploitation (ATLEU) and Voice of Domestic Workers (VODW) to offer the Rise and Lead Fellowship for people with experience of trafficking and modern slavery. Recognising the need for more representation of people with lived experience in the advice and support sector, the 12-month fellowship aims to break systemic barriers by offering training, support, and career placements with the partner organisations. SEEAC looks forward to hosting one of the fellows, where they will work closely with our support advisors to help our clients, providing the fellows with a pathway to long-term employment while directly contributing to a structural shift in the sector towards meaningful inclusion of people with lived experience.
Know Your Employment Rights Workshops
We know it can be difficult to understand your rights as a migrant worker in the UK. Through interactive workshops delivered by our expert Senior Employment Rights Advocacy Officer, we support people with understanding their basic employment rights and empower them with the tools and processes to stand up for their rights at work.
Employability and Entrepreneurship Upskilling Training Programme
SEEAC’s Upskilling Training Programme, funded through East End Community Foundation and the Canary Wharf Group, supports community members to build skills in both employment and entrepreneurship. Our first series of workshops in 2026 covered employment rights alongside practical sessions on starting and growing a business. Participants explored how to shape their business offer, identify customers, price their goods and services, and develop basic marketing and systems. Delivered with partners 2-3 Degrees and Royal Holloway, University of London, the programme concluded with a careers session focused on reflection, transitions, and next steps into sustainable work or enterprise.
