SEEAC is a member of a consortium of 14 organisations that support the On Your Side, a new, UK-wide support and reporting service for anyone in the UK who identifies as East and Southeast Asian who has experienced racism or any forms of hate.

Through this project, led by Protection Approaches, SEEAC is working together to design, develop and deliver a new UK-wide hate crime and hate incident support and reporting service for all people in the UK who identify as East and Southeast Asian, including recently arrived Hong Kong BN(O) status holders. The SEEAC caseworker, an independent advocate for this service, is tasked to refer and signpost the service user to relevant organisations that can help address their current concerns surrounding these issues.

This new independently branded service will break down barriers to reporting and ensure that victims/survivors of hate crime from all East and Southeast Asian communities have access to the ongoing support that they need. It will capture incidents of hate such as identity-based violence and harassment, including their nature, range, and numbers, to underpin new measures to address such incidents through mitigation, prevention, and justice approaches.

This project has been funded by the UK Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities’ BN(O) status holders and East and Southeast Asian (ESA) Third Party Hate Crime Reporting Service Fund.
